INKlings from the Week

Must be another Sunday 🙂

This week’s batch of INKlings has a little cheater in there (I don’t apologize!) named Frip-C. I wanted him to be flip-able from the beginning, but he turned out even cuter flipped than intended! Anyway, there will be more goofy contenders next week.

Elmwood Cemetery Finally Scanned!

Elmwood Cemetery Portrait

The best part about this new, wide-format scanner of mine is that I can go back and scan in all the pieces I wasn’t able to on my own time! This pretty baby here– literally– is one of them. I completed this sometime several years ago no for a celebration happening out at Elmwood Cemetery. Several students, myself among them, were given the opportunity to participate in an on-site portrait of someone buried there. They had to be finished on-site, so contributors and beneficiaries could walk around and experience them as well.

While most students had an actual person and history to explain as visitors dropped by to see what they were doing, I was challenged with a commemorative piece dedicated to all the children/babies buried in the cemetery without names or real markings– still borns and children lost early on to diseases and things.

I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and would jump at the chance to do it again 🙂

Ichabod, The Work In Progress

One of my more recent projects. it’s still a work in progress, but it’s also a wonderful little piece to play around with. I’m hoping to make this a promotional/mailer piece, but we’ll see how it goes. The first is the original ink drawing, done with brush and ink. The second is watercolor work done on a print out. It’s been fun, painting again 🙂

Another Set of INKlings!

You can tell my focus as wandered a little bit, but that’s the point of this exercise, right? I’m just relieved to have at least a little bit of art in each day! ❤ (Except for the one’s I miss– Shhh!)

Enjoy!

The Series of Thanks is Completed

And just like that, the series is completed and ready to go.

I’m a little sad to be finished with this fun mini series of cards, since I enjoyed working on them as much as I did. I’ve really done my best this time around, and I feel it comes through clearly.

Alas, it is time to move forward with a new confidence earned from a project well done, and begin tackling the next challenge I’ve designed. 🙂

Onward and Upward!

Announcements Sent Forth!

Variety Ready to go

Commencement Announcements have been finished and officially sent out into the world.

If you aren’t sure you’re going to get one, or I don’t have your address, please let me know and get that to me ASAP, okay?

I’ve learned a valuable lesson with all of this…

… Order them professionally next. They will not only look better, but be less of a headache.

Thank You for the Flowers!

Thank You for the FlowersSuch a contently happy little bunny!

This was the very first card I designed when considering doing this cute little series. Originally, the bunny was going to be a 3D element to the card, but I’m beginning to like it more as a flat piece. I won’t make my decision until I’ve mocked up both options. 🙂

Only two more left to go! Let me know what you think!
