That Captan America bear was absolutely one of my favorite installations to my Super Bear project. He even got a title– “Steven “Fight Me” Rogers”.
And, of coarse, where would Captain America be without his faithful young side kick, Bucky Barnes?? Before anyone fusses about “That isn’t Bucky from the movies!”, You’re absolutely right. It’s not. I designed his bear print off of the young side kick from his comics because I love that uniform and those colors. I’m planning to make another one that better suits MCU-WWII Steve (mostly because there isn’t enough Winter Soldier anything. Period.) but until then, he gets this one.
I’ll have another set of these adorable bears coming your way tomorrow, so check back!
A while back I had posted an image of my Superman inspired teddy bear illustration (Superbear), and just recently realized I never finished putting up the other bears I had finished and sold at Planet ComiCon in May! Oops.
So, here you have Batbear and Stan Lee.
“What? Stan Lee??”
Yes, Stan Lee. Since he was at the convention and it was announced to be one of his last ones, I decided to make a little limited edition print of him as a bear.
Each of these illustrations also produced some pretty adorable buttons, which you can find and purchase in my shop. Haven’t gotten prints up yet, but they will be. Soon.
Stay tuned, I’ve got several more to post up over the next couple days.
No, really, I’ll fight you on this 🙂 As someone who isn’t a fan of the majority of Disney’s sequels, this one might be one of my favorites. They geared it more towards adults, too, with the same amount of cute and plenty of tie-ins to its predecessor. In fact, it might be my favorite sequel… I don’t know, the jury’s still out on that. Monsters U was just SO relatable!
Why does this matter? Well, because it was cute. and as such, it’s my job as an illustrator to showcase something that is that cute! So…. Ta-da!
It’s CUDDLE TIME!! Seriously… This movie was too cute, all the annoying-ness aside. It’s worth a watch. 🙂 Why an otter? Well, you obviously haven’t seen the movie then. Hop to it!
The original painting took about 2 hours, and is only 8 x 8 inches! I’m thinking of making it into a print– anyone interested?
THAT’S RIGHT! You heard it here first (maybe).
Never say never when you put your name on a mailing list for the largest comic book convention in your city. After totally writing off Planet ComiCon since their waiting list HAD to be gigantic, what with George Takei, Jim Butcher and STAN LEE attending. Still, I went ahead and hoped, then promptly forgot.
Got an email this morning while I was on the computer saying they had a handful of spots suddenly available! Oh, you bet I jumped on that bandwagon as fast as humanly possible!
So, not-so-long story short, Simply Kitts Illustrations will be attending Planet at the end-ish of May! I’ll be splitting a book with my amazing artist friend over at Moon-Shuttle Studios (No, really, you want to click that link– her work is WONDERFUL) and will let you know where to find us soon as we know it!
Can you believe how exciting this year is turning out to be? I sure can’t 😀
It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane! No, it’s a Super Bear!! Who’d have guessed?
Been working on more and more merchandise for the upcoming conventionS (That’s right, PLURAL!) trying to keep my head as we go. So much to do and I suddenly have so very little time! Ahh!
It’s very exciting, though, doing all of this for the first time. The “partner” piece to this will be up next once it’s complete, while I continue progress on a few more sets of stickers and, most importantly, my Gnome Coloring Book.
P.S. I would just like to point out that while Superbear’s fussy expression was not entirely intended, it is my favorite. The end!

2016 Valentines Card
I still do greeting cards! Are you surprised? Of coarse not– They’re too much fun.
Both of the Valentine’s Day cards up here are my absolute favorite. You can actually purchase a variety of fun stuff with these characters on it over on my RedBubble Page. I’ll admit, I have a walrus t-shirt… He’s just so cute, how could I resist?!
The “party animals” birthday card was another fun exercise using limited colors. From what I was told, the gal it was commissioned for absolutely adored it, which was wonderful to hear. I’ve reworked a version of the card for my own purposes that removed the “beautiful” text from the card to make it a little more user friendly.
Last card that needs explaining is my favorite neon yellow crocodile. If you ever miss someone and you know they think you’re kind of annoying from time to time? That’s the one you should send. 🙂
I’ll have more cards up for you in the near future, including the super fun Easter card I created this year. It was interactive, AND had stickers– how could you go wrong with that?
Easy answer: You can’t!

Hello! Some more catching up today! These stills are a few examples of the work I did for the KWK! Comic app available for Android, iPhone and who knows what else. It’s a great project I was approached for a little over a year ago where you can create your own fun little comics using provided imagery, purchasing kits like mine for more diversity, and using your own photographs! It’s a neat little idea and the kids love it, so if you’ve got any of those, you should take a peek.
It was a very different job, and I have to admit that it was a lot of fun! I would be open to doing more app work in the future. 🙂
