Yep, I finished a new video! This one here is of the process (drawing and inking) for my Hawkeye teddy bear, one of the newest additions to my Comic Book Bear Series.
Please, take the time to visit my Youtube and leave a comment and/or follow me if you enjoyed this. I’ll have more in the future. Many more…
If you like watching people art, you can also check out my Twitch channel! I pot a schedule every week with days and times for my streams, so swing by and take a look!
Very excited to finish this bear up and add it to my official line up!!
What a fun convention!! This was my very first year attending Visioncon, hosted down in Branson, MO, and before leaving I absolutely had to pre-register for a table for next year. The people were very nice and pleasant, the event itself had lots to do and see, and there was so much to do in Branson, even being the off season! For anyone who doesn’t know, Branson is where Silver Dollar City is, so it’s closed for the winter and the town is kind of on vacation for the same period of time. Still tons to do and see, which I didn’t do or see because conventions still exhaust me. Oh well, gives me an excuse to go back!
For the first time ever, I opened commissions at my booth during the event, which was fun and absolutely something I’ll be doing again. It never ceases to amaze me just how creative people are. I had a bunch of unique requests, so take a look through the images below and see for yourself!
Commission 01: “White Tiger”
Commission 02: “Blue Lantern Bear” for the awesome Jeremy Jackson from the Mojo Brothers.
Commission 03: “A White Tiger Just Like That One” for the gentleman who tried to buy the other one out from under my pen. You rock, man. 🙂
Commission 04: “Rin Kagamine Bear”
Commission 05: “Swamp Thing Cat” which was my favorite one of the con. Yes, even more favorite than Number 9. Jeremy sent him my way after showing off Number 2 🙂
Commission 06: “Toon-Link Dragon” for the brother of the gal who requested Rin!
Commission 07: “A Teddy Bear in a Cow Costume” ordered by an adorable little thing who was also in a cow costume.
Commission 08: “Donatello, But Like How I’m Dressed” Based off her reference photo.
Commission 09: “Possum Winter Soldier” for my biggest Winter Soldier fan 🙂
Commission 10: “Niffler, like that Scene Where Newt Catches Him In the Jewelry Shop Window” for Karmen at Right Brain Red, my artist alley neighbor!
I also learned about a couple other conventions being hosted around that area that I’m going to see about looking into. 🙂
One of my most recent gifts for my friend over at Mythic Skies Art. It was a fun experiment, lost of things learned and played with– And he seemed to enjoy it. Onto my Christmas gifts, now!
Must be another Sunday 🙂
This week’s batch of INKlings has a little cheater in there (I don’t apologize!) named Frip-C. I wanted him to be flip-able from the beginning, but he turned out even cuter flipped than intended! Anyway, there will be more goofy contenders next week.
One of the various ongoing projects of mine, a new sketchbook cover. The nice thing about the Moleskin cashiers journals, besides being able to choose from blank, lined or graph paper– or its nice size– is that the brown of the cover makes the perfect middle ground so both white and black inks really get a chance to shine together.
Eventually, once I figure out an avenue for it other than Etsy.com (It’s become a bit of a monster…), this and the other notebooks I’ve been working on will be going up for sale. With any luck, I’ll also be getting a variety of my cards up as well, so you can cover any holiday in style!
As I said they would! I think Sunday is a mighty fine time to upload a week’s work of critters, don’t you? And this weeks’ selection is pretty amusing.
Sadly, with Christmas (oh, no, I said it!!) only two months away, I’m diving into a season of work I won’t be able to post until after the holidays. That being said, there’s a handful of other, not gift works in progress I’ll be continuing as well as I keep going with this stride I’ve struck recently. It’s good to be getting back into the flow of making art! Who’d have thunk?
I’ve also decided to maybe start showcasing, once a month or so, artist friends of mine for you to investigate and follow as well. I’m gifted with a plethora of talented friends and acquaintances, so please give them a look through in the coming months!
It’s been awhile since I’ve done much of anything with these guys, and now that I’ve opened an online shop-type-things (at RedBubble.com) I realized that some of these cuties would make awesome stickers and such. So… Here they are all colored and played with. I’m planning to continue working with a selection of the others with a similar intent in mind. This little project of mine has also rekindled my desire to continue working on my INKling sketches. Those will be making an appearance here in a short while!
A delightful little Work In Progress my father helped title for me. Just a silly little something I look forward to turning into a poster once it’s colored and ready to go! Who doesn’t love a line of prancing poodles?
note: So everyone knows, since this photo is smaller than the original for copyright/protective reasons, the mouse at the end has a cotton ball on its tail and an upside-down bottle cap for a crown!
Just a little example of some of the work I’ve finished in recent history. I’ll have more work up soon including my latest promotional piece, “Ichabod”.
Like every artist, I have a variety of projects I’ve been working on as of late. Three different book projects, plus a comic book/webcomic and an illustrated quilt. I don’t have much time to work on any one for very long, but I wanted to toss a few little snippets up here to kind of show everyone that I’ve been working hard and am, of coarse, still trying to work my way into the world.
The first four snapshots are of a pair of posters I’ve been working over for my webcomic, Tricks, Twins & Thieves, to get the ball rolling on possible merchandising material for the future. Each original drawing is 11×17 inches, and they will be colored eventually! The bottom two shots are little illustrations for a poem/book “This Is A Poem For You”. It’s a personal venture and will be kept between me and the one who wrote it (most likely) but I’m putting a fair bit of effort into it and look forward to showing it to everyone else once it’s complete!
