Finally time for the chilling of the seasons.

Finally time for the chilling of the seasons.

Can you tell I’m ready for winter?

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything, and I’m sorry for that! I’m working my hardest to keep projects running, and I haven’t done much work that isn’t related to the webcomic I’ve started up or art inspired by fandoms I’ve fallen into. Still, my portfolio needs some work, so it’s high time I got going on some new pieces to keep that up to date and hopefully get some work coming my way. πŸ™‚

Here’s the start of a hopefully productive winter season!

Thanks for the Phone Call!!

Thanks for the Phone CallAt last!! My series is complete!

All five “Thank You Cards” are done and ready for mocking up at long last, so now it’s off to the printers to get that part done. I’ll show you the finished work once it’s done, but for now I’m excited to move onto my next task!

Star Trek movie pack, here I come!

Thank You for the Flowers!

Thank You for the FlowersSuch a contently happy little bunny!

This was the very first card I designed when considering doing this cute little series. Originally, the bunny was going to be a 3D element to the card, but I’m beginning to like it more as a flat piece. I won’t make my decision until I’ve mocked up both options. πŸ™‚

Only two more left to go! Let me know what you think!

Thank You Balloons

The second of my Thank You card series. Still not quite happy with it, but happy enough! πŸ™‚ Β Enjoy.

Once I have these mocked up, I’ll post more pictures so you can see the 3D elements– If I go with those.

A Very Full Plate!

I’ve never had so many projects going on at the same time before!! It’s kind of exciting, while being a little overwhelming and difficult to focus on at the same time. I’ve also taken these projects as an excuse to get back into water coloring a little bit. My work method has changed a little, not working on pieces in, well, pieces, with the intention of bringing them all together in Photoshop. I’m not yet sure how I like it, but this is where the world is heading anyway. I just have to keep as much of my favorite tradition feel as I can!

The plate is full of Thank you and Commencement cards, as well as the library cards, a personal exploration, and Character tiles. I’m loving it. πŸ™‚

Library Card Struggles

Library Card Thumbnails

There are many times when I sit down to work on a project and am assaulted with endless streams of ideas. I decided it would be an interesting challenge to create a series of Library cards for a variety of ages. Initially, I had decided to do one card each for… Infants/parents, Toddlers (3-5 years), Children (8-12 years), Teenagers, and College students. Since then, it has gotten a little bit out of control… While I’ve decided on two images for my first two in the list, I find that deciding on one option for the “Children’s” bracket is very difficult. I’ve wandered from a a card for each gender, to a card that is cut out and looks like a dragon or unicorn, to a single image intended to bring everyone in, and back again.

While I fear I may have bitten off a bit more than I could chew, I’m excited to see where I eventually settle in the long run.
