This wonderful and challenging mini-series was commissioned by a family friend for their newborn baby’s nursery. After seeing my comic book teddy bears, and wanting to have a elephant theme for little Logan, they asked if it was possible for me to make Star Wars Elephants. Well, I certainly hadn’t tried before, and a few sketches later, we decided I was more than happy to accept the challenge!
Three months later, these watercolored little cuties are home with their baby to raise that little guy up right!
I’m toying with doing a few more of these, just because, though I’ll have these prints available in my Etsy shop soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
Each of these paintings is 11 x 8.5 inches, inked using Dr. PH. Martin’s Black Star Matte India Ink and Dr. PH. Martin’s HYDRUS Watercolor sets 1 and 2.
One of my most recent gifts for my friend over at Mythic Skies Art. It was a fun experiment, lost of things learned and played with– And he seemed to enjoy it. Onto my Christmas gifts, now!
Now that all the Birthdays have come and gone, it’s finally time to put this little series up here! It was a wonderful challenge, coming up with four cards that interacted this year. There was originally going to be 5, but, well… I settled at four.
If you like what you see, I’ve got cut out variations of each of these creatures up on my RedBubble Shop as stickers, iPhone cases and a variety of other unique gifts.
Each piece was drawn using brush and India ink, then finished up and formatted using Adobe Photoshop. Additionally, each card had some fun hand done font inside wishing each family member the very best on their special day. With any luck, I’ll have these available as a 4 or 8 pack set of blank stationary as soon as I get my Store Envy shop up and running!
One of my more recent projects. it’s still a work in progress, but it’s also a wonderful little piece to play around with. I’m hoping to make this a promotional/mailer piece, but we’ll see how it goes. The first is the original ink drawing, done with brush and ink. The second is watercolor work done on a print out. It’s been fun, painting again 🙂
Just a little example of some of the work I’ve finished in recent history. I’ll have more work up soon including my latest promotional piece, “Ichabod”.
Commencement Announcements have been finished and officially sent out into the world.
If you aren’t sure you’re going to get one, or I don’t have your address, please let me know and get that to me ASAP, okay?
I’ve learned a valuable lesson with all of this…
… Order them professionally next. They will not only look better, but be less of a headache.
Such a contently happy little bunny!
This was the very first card I designed when considering doing this cute little series. Originally, the bunny was going to be a 3D element to the card, but I’m beginning to like it more as a flat piece. I won’t make my decision until I’ve mocked up both options. 🙂
Only two more left to go! Let me know what you think!
